LA vs Hate press conference. An interfaith coalition of Los Angeles leaders call for residents to report any act of hate to the Los Angeles County 2-1-1 hotline. hotline.
Los Angeles Metropolitan Churches and a interfaith coalition of faith and community leaders call for peace with an LA vs Hate press conference in response to the wave of violence, racism, intolerance and hate that has recently rocked college campuses across the nation, including USC and UCLA.
USC and UCLA have had recent on campus protests where violence has taken place. There is never any excuse for hate, racism and intolerance. Protests and freedom of speech is protected by the constitution. But the safety of everyone who participates in any protest has to be protected also. Unfortunately that hasn't happened in Los Angeles with college students, faculty, staff members and activists being the victims of violence and hate.
That's why our coalition of faith and community leaders are encouraging anyone who feels that they have been the victim of a hate crime to report it immediately by dialing 2-1-1 to report hate acts and access resources for assistance. " There is a team ready to listen, provide guidance and connect you with the help you need. " Najee Ali, Director of Project Islamic Hope.
